Individual instruction (weekly one-hour lesson) in the principal instrument for students pursuing the BA in Visual & Performing Arts with Music Concentration or the music minor. Course is offered for voice, piano, guitar, woodwinds, brass, strings, and percussion. Enrollment is limited to VPA music concentrations, music minors, or performing arts minors with a music focus area. Other students may enroll in this course only with the permission of the Program Head for Visual & Performing Arts. An audition may be required for appropriate placement. May be repeated for credit (16 semester credit hours maximum). Corequisite: Concurrent enrollment in an ensemble is required. 2 credit hours.
Prerequisites: Four semesters of Applied Music study for the principal instrument (or equivalent) and instructor consent required.
