This course will introduce students to international and U.S. migration, asylum and refugee policy and law. The course will explore the broad issue of international migration and its effects. It will also examine the development and expansion of the international rights and protections in regard to forced migration, asylum and refugee issues. The course will explore U.S. policy and law on these issues in comparison with other receiving states. Students will be introduced to a growing body of relevant empirical research. 3 credit hours.
