This course examines the conditions that promote war and peace between states. Topics include all aspects of international conflict, from its onset to its termination, as well as conflict management attempts by warring and external actors. Readings will come from both the quantitative and qualitative literatures, and students will learn how to read and analyze scientific studies on international conflict. 3 credit hours.
