Social and environmental factors have profound impacts on neural physiology and mental health. This course provides a survey and discussion of the social determinants that give rise to health disparities in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases or disorders. Frameworks and methodologies used to conduct research and inform health policy will be presented in the context of current examples of neural health disparities. 3 credit hours.
Prerequisite: NSC 3361 or equivalent.
