This course provides a more advanced study of engineering thermodynamics. It includes an examination of the fundamental concepts of classical, macroscopic thermodynamics at a level beyond what is covered in a first course. The course coverage includes additional advanced topics such as exergy, thermodynamic property relationships, gas mixtures, gas-vapor mixture properties, chemical reactions, and thermodynamics of advanced energy systems. A brief introduction to the microscopic aspects of thermodynamics will provide a foundation for understanding the principles of statistical thermodynamics. 3 credit hours.
