Exploration of significant recent approaches that represent major disciplinary and interdisciplinary contributions to the field. With emphasis on theory and method, focus falls upon critical study of new interests that include 'new' social and cultural histories, mentalities, post-structuralism, feminism, critical theory, institutionalist history, and hermeneutics, among others. May be repeated for credit as topics vary (6 semester credit hours maximum). 3 credit hours.
