Seismic Inversion

Theory and application for state of the art methods for inversion of seismic data. Topics include geophysical inverse theory, seismic wave propagation, velocity estimation via traveltime tomography, imaging, and full wavefield inversion methods. Advanced methods for estimation of rock and fluid physics properties in the earth. 3 credit hours.
Prerequisites: GEOS 6392 and instructor consent required.
