A course exploring the use of geophysical methods to solve environmental problems. Geophysical techniques covered include seismic, ground penetrating radar, electrical methods, and well logs. Course includes a hands-on component with survey design, data collection, and data processing. Environmental applications such as hazard assessment, groundwater monitoring, mapping subsurface contaminants, and locating anthropogenic objects are covered. Recommended Prerequisites: GEOS 1303 and (MATH 2414 or 2419). 3 credit hours.
Prerequisites: (MATH 2413 or 2417) and PHYS 2325.
