This course is a comprehensive look at exceptional populations. The first segment of the course explores the needs of special learners, and the history, assessment, and instruction for this subpopulation. Students examine the learning needs of gifted learners as well as explore the development of gifted education, instructional practices, and supports. Finally, the course examines the learning needs of twice exceptional K-12 students and their impact in the classroom as well as ways to best meet the learning needs of this subpopulation. 3 credit hours.
