Includes instruction in evidence-based practices for conducting appropriate, least-biased assessment and intervention with bilingual pediatric populations. Topics will cover bilingual language development, manifestation of language disorders in bilingual children, differentiating between language differences and language disorders, intervention strategies, as well as issues pertinent to bilingual service delivery such as cultural and linguistic responsiveness and working with interpreters. Knowing a second language is NOT required. 1-3 credit hours.
Prerequisites: BBSC majors only and department consent required.
