This course introduces students to career path exploration and methods for locating and pursuing jobs in biomedical engineering while learning about the many steps involved in taking a medical device from concept to market. Medical device experts guest lecture about a variety of topics, including ethics, entrepreneurship, clinical studies, regulatory affairs, and quality assurances. In addition to familiarizing students with the process of medical device development, this course serves as a springboard for students to pursue further coursework in medical devices and into the professional world of medical devices and biomedical engineering. 3 credit hours.
