Introduction to Medical Device Development

This course introduces students to some of the many factors influencing the design and development of medical devices over a product's lifespan. This course will examine medical devices in regards to ethics, entrepreneurship, clinical studies, regulatory affairs, and quality assurances. In addition to familiarizing students with the process of medical device development, this course helps students explore the variety of career options available to biomedical engineers. 3 credit hours.
Prerequisites: RHET 1302 and Junior standing.
