The goal of this course is to introduce students to the history, assessment, treatment, research, and multidisciplinary management of tinnitus, a phantom auditory perception. The course covers peripheral and neural models of tinnitus and the relationship between tinnitus and hearing loss as well as other auditory phenomena including abnormal loudness tolerance. 2 credit hours.
Prerequisites: BBSC majors only and department consent required.
